Kota Kinabalu: Sentosa Umno Branch Chief Ismail Enson wants the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to carry out investigations on the status of his People's Housing Project house which he had applied for in 2008.
He lodged a report with MACC, Tuesday, after an executive officer of Tuaran District Council told him that his house unit was unavailable.
This however was subsequently denied by the District Officer.
"I made my RM625 deposit payment in January last yearÉhowever when I inquired about my unit two weeks ago, the executive officer said the lot is no longer there.
"I was shocked. How can that be? I have made my payment and I did not receive any letters or phone calls to inform me that my lot is not available.
So I met with the District Officer Madiyem Layapan on Dec 13 and to my surprise he told me that I still have my lot," he said.
Ismail explained that the Tuaran District Council had given him the unit at Taman Sri Rugading, Tuaran, and that he had received an approval letter regarding the matter on Dec 9, 2008.
He also said during his meeting with Madiyem, the latter had spoken to the Rugading management and that they had confirmed the availability of Ismail's lot.
"When I wanted to speak to the executive officer about the matter, I was told that he was not in.
"I am really not satisfied over this matter and I feel that I've been cheated.
I hope the MACC will look at this seriously and carry out thorough investigations," Ismail added.
Meanwhile, Marsah Muyong, a former councillor in the district, who accompanied Ismail, also expressed his disappointment with the District Council in handling his son's People's Housing Project house application.
"I handed over the application letter under my son's name Abdul Malik Marsah about two years ago but until today I have received no response regarding my application.
"They told me that they couldn't find my application letter.
I am really saddened by this and I also hope that MACC or relevant authorities could look into this to find out what had happened," said Marsah, who a committee member of Umno Tuaran.
