Kota Kinabalu: The State Agriculture and Food Industry Ministry may appeal against a recent court decision that awarded ownership of a 50-acre site in Likas, here, supposedly owned by Ko-Nelayan, to a private entity.
Deputy Chief Minister-cum-Agriculture and Food Industry Ministry Datuk Yahya Hussin, said although "just a small piece of land" it is a very valuable property of Ko-Nelayan.
"I also cannot understand it. The land is supposedly owned by Ko-Nelayan, but then a private entity went to court (to claim ownership) and won," he said at the presentation of appointment letters for Ko-Nelayan board members at Wisma Pertanian, Wednesday. The turn-of-events happened before Yahya took over the Ministry.
