He said the statement by Chin implying that there should be a State Cabinet reshuffle and questioning the Chief Minister's decision on his Cabinet line-up was arrogant, disrespectful and clearly disregarded the BN spirit of mutual respect and understanding.
Chin's actions were opposition-like in nature and not one of friend or comrade struggling for a common good, which was the hallmark of Barisan Nasional, he said. "Chin acknowledges that the appointment of Ministers and Assistant Ministers is the prerogative of the CM but yet questions his decision," said Mohd Joh, in a statement.
"I don't know if this is LDP's stand or Chin's personal view. Nonetheless LDP should make its stand clear," he said, adding Chin was also ignorant of certain things and should not meddle in other BN component party matters.
"He is misinformed about Datuk Japlin's status. Japlin's membership in Umno was not suspended, only some of his rights as an Umno member," said Mohd Joh, who is also Sepanggar Umno Youth Chief. If Chin is unhappy or dissatisfied with BN related issues, he should not voice it through the media, he said, adding these should be brought to the table for discussion.
"Chin said the CM should consider the feelings of other BN component parties. Chin must also not forget that the CM must take into account not just the feelings of BN component parties but also the feelings of the people regardless of race and religion." Three other Sabah Umno division chiefs also jointly criticised Chin, reminding him not to act as if he were a hero.
Pensiangan Umno Division Chief, Datuk Ghani Yassin, Kota Marudu Umno Division Chief, Wetrom Bahanda @ Mohd Fikri, and Kudat Umno Division Chief cum Assistant Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister, Bolkiah Haji Ismail, made their joint statement on the matter at Wisma Umno Sabah building here.
"Don't try to act as if you are a hero we have a proper channel available for any members within the BN component parties to speak up on any dissatisfaction and so on why not use it," they said.
They said he could actually bring it up to the CM who is also the State BN Chairman, apart from being the State Umno Liaison Chairman, through the proper channel. "There is nothing wrong for us to discuss any dissatisfaction in a closed-door meeting, without doing things that will only put BN to shame. The BN's strength lies with its strong spirit of cooperation and understanding between the component parties otherwise you will be seen as acting like an opposition."
They said it is the responsibility of all members of the State BN coalition to protect and prolong the political and socio-economic stability enjoyed by the people in Sabah ever since the BN took over the helm. Questioning the actual motive of Chin or what instigated him to say that, they said they are also still awaiting an official statement from Liew.
They also hoped politicking will ease in Sabah because "the main focus should be on development and economic revitalisation efforts because these would be the ones to be demanded by the people during the next 13th General Elections."
