SAPP’s fight for Sabahans is sincere: says Dep President
10th September, 2008
KOTA KINABALU: Likas Assemblyman and Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) Deputy President Datuk Liew Teck Chan says SAPP’s fight on issues affecting Sabahans are sincere.
“If we were struggling for our own self-interest only and if SAPP’s president Datuk Yong Teck Lee was covetous he would have held many posts now,” Liew pointed out yesterday.
Liew said the party is still waiting for the Barisan Nasional (BN) leadership to make a decision on their no-confidence stand on the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
“It is up to the BN leadership to decide that and it seems BN doesn’t want us to be there. For me, so long it is for the benefit of the people we would go along and fulfill the party’s objectives.” said Liew in refuting claims that SAPP wanted to leave BN.
“It is just rumours, the change of leadership in certain positions happened because some members were just too busy and unable to cope with their work so they had to resign from their posts but continue to remain as members to serve the party’s objectives,” he explained.
SAPP is still strong and people who said the party was splitting was pursuing their own personal agenda, added Liew.
And now you talking about fighting for the peoples...!!!
